The South African landscape is littered with three-day MTB stage races, but the Sanlam Invitational presented a two-day offering for the first time last year and it’s proved to be popular with riders not having to take time off work to be able to take part.
The event is rooted in a central race village over the two days at Rhebokskloof Estate, which makes rider logistics a breeze, particularly with the two-night luxury tented accommodation package offered at Rhebokskloof.
Coupled with its locality, only a half hour drive from the centre of Cape Town, it’s seen a host of riders make the short pilgrimage to Paarl to experience to beauty of the Paarl Mountain and its surrounds from the saddle.
The Sanlam Invitational’s reputation for world-class hospitality precedes itself following the sublime race village atmosphere which characterised the event last year.
The Sanlam Invitational experience was open to the public for the first time last year. The event received incredible feedback and, true to form, Sanlam Investments are backing the event this year enabling an even better route, higher value race pack items and a complete weekend tented package.
The Sanlam MTB Invitational was presented as an in-house event for Sanlam guests and employees in its first two years, but last year the event opened its doors to allow anyone to take part.
Sanlam still host their guests on race days, but it’s now in the form of a VIP event for Sanlam within the Sanlam Invitational which boasted 300 public team entries last year.
