Nederburg – The Red Table restaurant at Nederburg not only offers a beautiful setting for a picnic, but also offers various outdoor activities. Their lawns stretch out to views of the surrounding mountains and vineyards that yield their award winning wines. Volksmond Restaurant @ The Taalmonument – There are few places in Paarl where you get such a beautiful view of Table Mountain. The Volksmond is a popular tourist picnic spot due to it’s location at The Taalmonument. The basic basket includes ciabatta rolls; a cheese platter with biscuits; sweet chilli sauce; cold meat; chicken mayonnaise; a Greek salad; fruit salad; something sweet and bottled water or fruit juice. You can add more items such as mini quiches, cold meats and savoury snacks. You can either make yourself comfortable at one of the tables next to the restaurant or take your picnic up to the monument and stretch out on the grass. Landskroon Wine Estate – Landskroon, situated along the south western slopes of Paarl Mountain, offers a breath taking view of their vineyards and Table Mountain in the distance. This picturesque wine farm comprises more than 300 hectares and is managed as a private, family operation and owned by the families of brothers Paul and Hugo de Villiers.
