Charles started paintings at a young age. At the Nederburg Primary School, where he received his primary school eduction, his talent was noticed at an early age. After completing his secondary education at Klein Nederburg Secondary School, he enrolled in the South African Defense Force. He continued to paint and developed a technique to build scale models (Mostly buildings) using matchsticks and other materials. He works in different mediums.

His extensive collection consists of oil on canvas, watercolour on cardboard/ carton and paper, as well as oil pastels. Charles models his life’s philosophy on the fact that all individuals are unique and that you achieve your goals despite your circumstances.
